the Magic System is far better, the Talents and Skills does have a real impact on your Gameplay.īut I would never say that its "better" than Skyrim, just another Game. it is nothing like Skyrim, besides the look and engine, as there is a different level system, questing is more story nothing is generic, for me I play this with german voices (never would do this in Skyrim) as the actors are really good. I've 2-3k hours in Skyrim, Skyrim SE and modded Skyrim Versions which does not count on Steam. It feels "harder" because there are much new Skills and Talents the KI uses as well, like sprint attacks or jumpattacks, also you will need much more time to feel "op" (if you ever will) unlike Skyrim where you can get this point in some hours without much effort. Mostly correct but the AI is as dumb as in Skyrim, you can bug and trick it at any corner/tree/well/rock and abuse it hard if you like. I could go on about the smaller differences but, really, if that's not enough info for you to be interested in just trying then I guess you probably won't like it. It seems a great number of enemies are hand-placed for example (or the spawn zones are very specific). There is much less freedom - for better or worse - and a more linear narrative and experience. So, in summary - this game is not as much of a time-sink as Skyrim, IMO. I almost wish it was faster for the reason I said just before - I feel so weak! But in all seriousness I know that this will make the destination all the more satisfying. Levelling up in this is definitely *not* easy.
If you do try it, note that I've find dodging to be very effective in this game with certain enemies (by that I mean to bait them into swinging then getting out of the way). The combat in this is more interesting, the AI is tricky, and a lot of the enemies are very punishing (I just learned that there's no scaling so you simply have to avoid many types of enemies when you first start). Unlike Skyrim, the game is quite linear and story driven - it doesn't throw you into a massive open world without holding your hand like Skyrim does. It's different, definitely - some will find it better, some worse, but some of us just consider it "different" without a need to compare it to other games.īased on what you've said, you might like this game. I think a lot of that is because of similar quests and the game being too easy to level up. A few years later I start again, get about to the same place and quit, mad at myself that I still have not seen 80% of the world. I get like to the second or third town and quit.
